The update of the internal MES system was undertaken given the planned machinery upgrades that SAFIRAL expects in the coming months. It is thus the first in several new investments. MYCenter is a sophisticated APM (Assembly Process Management) system from Mycronic. The software is designed to streamline and optimize the entire electronics manufacturing process. However, that is nothing new to SAFIRAL. The software has been used for many years already. The latest version will now bring a range of modules to improve every step of the manufacturing process:
  • MYCam: Data preparation for PCB assembly.
  • MYPlan: Planning and preparation of the manufacturing process.
  • PRM: Component consumption tracking.
  • PCB ID: Product code verification.
  • Traceability: Production and component tracking to ensure traceability.
  • MYCenter Analysis

MYCenter Analysis

Let's stop for a moment at this module. Its main asset is a set of detailed analytical tools. An intuitive dashboard shows SAFIRAL employees in real time the current status of production lines, the number of manufactured boards, the production cycle, and the load balance of each production department. SAFIRAL keeps mass production separate from prototype production, but it is desirable to combine the two from time to time. This demands a great deal of planning, but simultaneously, it brings the possibility of rapid change and flexibility in the entire process. As express production dominates among the services, requirements change from minute to minute.

The current state needs to be monitored also within the control processes, which include AOI, FAI, or RTG. Thanks to the complexity of the new software, the readiness of production at its beginning is being monitored. RTG reception of parts and the state of storage facilities are included in the analyses. Incompleteness of the delivered material, for example, can be addressed in advance. It is quite common that more than 100 types of components are needed to assemble a single PCB, and in such quantities, minor mix-ups may occur or a component may not be delivered at all. Therefore, the problem diagnosis directly on the production lines is necessary. Analysis of rejected components allows us to identify and solve problems quickly. It is thus considered a secondary automated control.
The Czech company KINALI from Brno is responsible for the development of the MYCenter software for the machines of the Swedish technology company Mycronic. The cooperation between these companies started in 2006 and was the reason why KINALI was founded. Today, in addition to the development of MYCenter solutions, it acts as a local center of competence for automation and the Industry 4.0 concept. KINALI is significantly involved in the development of most of the software tools for production preparation and control of the electronics production offered by MYCRONIC.

Benefits of the new update

The investment in the software has reached CZK 3.5 million and brings several key benefits:

  • Thanks to enhanced monitoring and analysis, production line capacities can be further optimized
  • Advanced diagnostics allow us to identify potential problems more quickly
  • Software upgrades and the addition of a new automated production line will allow us to respond more quickly and efficiently to customer requirements
These improvements take SAFIRAL to a new level in EMS services. We look forward to further innovations and cooperation with you, the readers of this article. If you have any questions or need more information about PCBA services and technologies, please do not hesitate to contact us.
